Full description

The  Floating Serrated Knife 13131 is a remarkable fixed knife. The handle is made from cork, so the Mora Floating Knife will - yes, you guessed it! - float if you happen to drop it in water.

This knife was specifically designed by professionals in maritime settings. This includes fishermen, people on offshore rigs, and ship crew members. In those environments, a good knife is essential. Primarily so that you can cut ropes and the like in rescue situations. That's why the blade of the Mora Floating Serrated Knife has sharp serrations - they make it easy to cut rope and other fibrous materials. The tip is rounded, which makes stab injuries a lot less likely. Of course, you can't use that tip in a rescue situation. In a sense, you could also call this a safety knife.

The blade is made from stainless steel. This means that it won't rust easily. At sea, however, you will always see traces of corrosion eventually. That's why it is important to clean the knife with fresh water after use and occasionally add a drop of oil to the blade.

The Mora Floating Serrated Knife comes with the renowned plastic sheath.

Even though Mora is known for its excellent production quality it is of course obvious that a knife with a handle made from compressed cork is less durable than a handle made from hard plastic. Fortunately this knife, like all other Mora knives, is very affordable.
